STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enter Edit Mode.
2. Drag an applet in the default panel
3. All applets disappear. The panel is blank when holding the mouse button.

Tested in a new account, on latest master.

It works in 6.3.4. The problem is only in master.

Show applets when drag and dropping them within panel

I previously committed my mistake parts of a work in progress
patch, which hid the applets when drag and dropping them. This
removes the lines commited by mistake.
