The notepad font cannot be changed. On high-dpi displays, the default font can be difficult to read.

Don't you set a sufficiently large scaling factor anyway on high-DPI displays so that you can read any text on the screen? I don't understand why you want to be able to set a larger font for the notepad, but not for the rest of the UI.

Yes, I have a scaling factor set (150%), however the font still remains a little bit small.

Since this is a text editor intended to be used for drafting and creation of messages and cyphertext, would it not be wise to allow for font customisation, as is common in any other editor?

Additionally during my testing, I noticed that the notepad editor font did not follow the system monospace font setting as set in System Settings > Fonts
Comment 3 Ingo Klöcker 2025-05-07 15:06:54 UTC
I'm not sure that allowing for font customization makes much sense. The notepad isn't really meant to be used as text editor. As text editor it lacks all the features people expect from a text editor, e.g. search & replace to name just one feature I'd expect in any text editor.

When having a quick look I also noticed that it doesn't honor the system monospace font setting as set in System Settings > Fonts. At least, this should be fixed. And maybe we should add support for changing the font size/magnification with Ctrl+Mouse Wheel and maybe also with Ctrl+Plus/Minus.

Thank you, that would be very nice of you.
