SUMMARY

Currently, gwenview lacks color management protocol support under wayland, causing all color rendered limited into sRGB color space, which shouldn't happen. You can try to download some pictures from https://webkit.org/blog-files/color-gamut/ and open them with gwenview, then you can see what's wrong.

Is this a Gwenview specific issue, or is this a general wayland issue? Wayland still has some issues regarding color mamangement

This is Gwenview specific, wayland's color management protocol support is at a nice state, MPV has good support for that.
