SUMMARY

Upgraded to snap version of Kasts 25.04.0 due to syncing not available in standard repository version 24.12.3. Everything worked in pervious version except for GPodder syncing. Audio options were VLC and QT 6.8.3 for audio backend choice of Qt Multimedia and VLC. Audio works on both options. 

New version installed via Snap is able to sync, resolving that issue. But new version only has audio backend of Qt Multimedia with no VLC, and does not output any audio. The media  buttons will accept a click to play, changing the icon to pause and back when clicked, but the audio slider does not start to show as playing  with the timer staying at 0:00 (or whatever time manually selected), as well as no sound. Qt Multimedia is showing as 6.8.2 for this version. 

No (available) settings were changed to be different, and no other major updates between each version or installs. Only the method of install due to availability of packages. 


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Unsure. I don't have another machine to try it on. 

OBSERVED RESULT
Audio will not begin playback, no options to select audio backend, unable to use podcast player.

EXPECTED RESULT
Audio would start and podcasts could be played.
