Hello,
Before I turn off the computer (standby), I close digiKam. After the window closes, I also check the Task Manager to see if the program has really closed. Sometimes it continues running for up to a minute.

MariaDB and the server run on a Synology NAS.

Perhaps it would be possible and safer for the data if the program window displayed a message that the program is closing. And when everything is finished in the background, the Windows window also closed. What do you think?

Hi Andy,

Any digiKam background process in action while shutdown the application, eg. synchronize file metadata with the database contents ?

This is a duplicate of Bug 502754. I've also noticed that sometimes the facial pipelines don't terminate and continue running. I've noticed it since the background process.
