Thanks for the bug report and the screen recording, which clearly shows the visual effect The applet in the screen recording is Application Launcher I'm not seeing this in git-master (Qt 6.8.2) or Fedora 42 (Plasma 6.3.4 Qt 6.9.0) I even slowed down animation speed, but still don't see it. Does this happen with a brand new user? Yes it does happen with a brand new user. Thanks for testing that. I'll let the more experienced kwin contributors take it from here. I recall a similar bug being fixed in Plasma 6.4. Does this still happen for you there? Can confirm that it no longer happens in 6.5beta2. |

The height of the artifact is proportional to the "Blur Strength" setting. The problem doesn't happen when only one of Blur or Background Contrast is enabled.
