Description Jonathan Isom 2025-04-12 17:00:11 UTC
SUMMARY
I use my keyboard to initiate fullscreen playback of video. After the video starts playing I need to move the mouse/trackpad for the cursor to disappear. Seen in Firefox and mpv. Probably happens elsewhere. If the mouse is used to make it fullscreen it may not occur.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. a. Launch 'mpv --fs' with a video from a terminal.
    b. In firefox open a Youtube video and use the 'f' key to make it fullscreen.

OBSERVED RESULT
The cursor will stay onscreen until it is moved.

EXPECTED RESULT
Disappear on it own after it the video goes fullscreen after a couple of seconds.

Unless you use the "hide cursor" effect, it's not up to KWin to hide the cursor. If the video players don't do it in situations where you think they should, then you'll need to report that to those video players.
