SUMMARY
With the move to try and "Metafy" all system level shortcuts (like https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/6964), I would like to suggest adding Meta+F4 as a an alternative default shortcut to Alt+F4

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0
Qt Version: 6.9.0

After having some conversations, Meta+W would make more sense so that it's more uniform with browser behavior (Ctrl+W)
Comment 2 Zamundaaa 2025-04-08 16:08:00 UTC
Meta+W specifically is already in use for the overview
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2025-04-09 17:03:43 UTC
Yeah, I'm not sure how much sense this makes.

Gnome seems to have Meta+Tab do the same as Alt+Tab. Maybe Plasma should do the same.

BTW, should I just mark this as a duplicate of Bug 508187 and copy all the info there?

Plasma does since https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/6964

It's a default binding, so it might not apply if you customized your switcher settings before that setting was included.

I don't think I ever customized my task switcher settings. Anyways, I set them to default now. Thanks.
