Description geopapougr 2025-04-07 22:51:04 UTC
When taking a screenshot, the interface which lets your select tools, edit your selection etc, can sometimes take up space inside the screenshot itself. This makes it impossible to use an editing tool like a highlighter, under the area of the interface directly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press your keyboard shortcut to start taking a screenshot of your screen
2. Selected an area vertically, which takes up the whole screen, top to bottom

OBSERVED RESULT
1. The editing interface will be shown inside the selection

EXPECTED RESULT
1. The editing interface will be shown inside the selection but I should have the ability to set a shortcut to hide it, to make my changes more easily, while also viewing my whole selection, and not obscured

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux Wayland

In the upcoming Plasma 6.4; you can drag them out of the way, and they also fade out while using a tool.
