Nothing in KDE will use kstart5 that I know of. Do you have any custom scripts or settings that use this? (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #2) > Nothing in KDE will use kstart5 that I know of. > Do you have any custom scripts or settings that use this? I don`t have any custom scripts attached to kstart . just default settings. Exist chance that i not properly described issue. I just attempted to collect as more as possible information. Issue with plasma wakeup i started to observe after last manjaro update . In current moment i have it on 2 different computers. Mar 26 06:52:06 ktotoPC login[57314]: pam_unix(login:session): session closed for user ktoto I think that main issue that plasma not wakeup properly and because of this kstart not able to start something properly an crash. I am not an expert so can mistake in my thoughts. After some investigations i found i hope temporary workaround to attempt to return control to desktop. 1) Wake up computer and see black screen with mouse pointer 2) make Ctrl+Alt+F3 and return back to X11 until plasmashell crash (sometimes 3 - 20 quick switching needed) 3) It will be visible desktop and popup reporting plasmashell crashed and restarted but desktop still very slow . In this case need to open plasma shell console and to do extra : kquitapp5 plasmashell kstart5 plasmashell After it system again operates normal. 🐛🧹 ⚠️ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
