SUMMARY
krusader freezes repeatedly when the user moves to different files or folders. It becomes unresponsive for up to 5 minutes. 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  Start krusader
2.  click on different files/folders

OBSERVED RESULT
krusader becomes unresponsive

EXPECTED RESULT
krusader works without freezing

Windows:

Linux/KDE Plasma: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Error occurs also when krusader is running in Xfce 4.16.0
We have 10-15 users parallel on the the machine. Strace shows repeatedly the following error:

openat(AT_FDCWD, "/run/user/12346/gvfs", O_RDONLY|O_NONBLOCK|O_CLOEXEC|O_DIRECTORY) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)
openat(AT_FDCWD, "/run/user/12347/gvfs", O_RDONLY|O_NONBLOCK|O_CLOEXEC|O_DIRECTORY) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)
openat(AT_FDCWD, "/run/user/12348/gvfs", O_RDONLY|O_NONBLOCK|O_CLOEXEC|O_DIRECTORY) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)
openat(AT_FDCWD, "/run/user/12349/gvfs", O_RDONLY|O_NONBLOCK|O_CLOEXEC|O_DIRECTORY) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)

Is there a way to remove gvfs without crippling Gnome? Or can I exclude those directories from krusader?

It's very strange. Do you have a lot of open tabs? Do you have the same problem when using Dolphin? Can you try uninstalling Krusader, deleting its configuration files and installing Krusader again?

It does not happen to me using the git version of Krusader. Can you follow the steps of
    https://commits.kde.org/krusader?path=INSTALL
in order to build the git version of Krusader and tell us if your problem is solved?
