Is OpenCL enabled or disabled in the digiKam settings under Miscellaneous -> System? Can you disable it (restart digiKam) and test whether it no longer crashes? Maik (In reply to Maik Qualmann from comment #1) > Is OpenCL enabled or disabled in the digiKam settings under Miscellaneous -> > System? Can you disable it (restart digiKam) and test whether it no longer > crashes? Yes, OpenCL was enabled. After disabling it, digiKam no longer crashes, and the retraining works as exptected until it is complete. Gday I have the same problem with version 8.6 I upgraded from version 8.4 i think to 8.6 and suddenly only 5 people were getting face suggestions. With the majority of them falling under a single person. At the time I was using sqllite on a NAS folder mapped to network disk on windows - and it had always worked fine. So, i thought, i already have the metadata on sidecar files, i'll just setup a mariadb and get it to scan the metadata and go from there. nope. Now, i have faces recognised from the metadata, but, all the "unknown" faces remain unknown and no matter how much i ask it to recognise face them they never get auto-suggested. Do you ahve OpenCL enabled in digiKam? Cheers, Mike D'oh! i meant to post this in this https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472266 but got them mixed up. I did have the checkbox ticked. Let me untick it and see what happens. I had the openCL ticked, but then on the about box it says OpenCL availability No, so i thought it would make no difference. I'll retry and let you know (In reply to Michael Miller from comment #4) > > Do you ahve OpenCL enabled in digiKam? > > Cheers, > Mike in reply to Michael Miller from comment #4) > Do you ahve OpenCL enabled in digiKam? > > Cheers, > Mike Ok i turned it off. I went to maintenance > detect and recognise faces. I ticked Rebuild all training data it didnt train much at all. I finally go it working when i went to the Album view, right clicked and did find-faces on the root and then it's doing it's magic. Hooray. Hi Mike, So this file can be closed ?
