SUMMARY

Noticed that the plasma 6.3 wayland session might have an issue with cut/copy and paste.

These operations sometimes cause the application in which they are practiced to freeze for a few seconds. Seen particularly in inkscape and thunderbird. The former also often crashes during these operations.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open inkscape or thunderbird 
2. Copy and paste or cut and paste stuff around

OBSERVED RESULT

The application occasionally freezes for a few seconds. Inkscape at times does even crash.

EXPECTED RESULT

Cut/copy and paste should not imply any lag/crash

Think that the issue is known to the inkscape developers, but that the issue might not be on the inkscape side, since the freezes are seen elsewhere too.

I see the freeze (no crash) also on thunderbird 136.

Confirmed, and fixed by https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/commit/bbecc43cef4e7c615fe8b1691c2eb1e1f916edf3 in Plasma 6.3.4

My system, too, has been very unstable in the past couple of days. Applications vanish when I copy & paste something, but also when attempting to attach a file to a message in KMail, for example. Not really sure if this is all due to the same root cause, but what used to be a very stable and reliable work environment is suddenly causing me lots of headaches...

Good to see that a fix has been committed so quickly, but seeing that the Plasma 6.3.4 release date is ~ 2 weeks from now -- may I humbly ask if there is any chance to get this update any sooner...?
