People often don't know the version of the Exchange server, which should be 2000, or  don't know whether webdav is enabled. The plugin should check for this and report something meaningful. Right now, it gives either an "Could not connect to host", or a "404 Object not found", depending on whether the host is running a web server on port 80 or not.

Closing since the Exchange plugin was removed in KDE3 and not ported in KDE4 due to lack of developer/maintainer for this plugin.
