Make backup of old file before saving a new one. A more sophisticated method might also be nice.

This would as well help recover after a bug 52851 (bad handling of full disk). One way is to simply add a task at midnight everyday making a cp of the calendar, but it would be nice not to pollute the calendar itself, it should go into the preferences.
