Thanks for the screenshot, and the detailed description. Since this involves the window decorations, I'm moving it to kwin The window decorations in the screenshot aren't from Breeze (the current default theme). Which theme and window decorations are you using? We'll need that information to try to reproduce this and figure out what's going on. Screenshots showing a full application window on the affected display showing the blurry and clear buttons would also help a lot. I tested using the Oxygen theme that has rounded window controls on git-master but wasn't able to reproduce this with: Laptop (1920x1080 @100%) External monitor (3440x1440 @175%) I had a window on each monitor, and wasn't able to tell the difference in the crispness of the window controls on the either monitor, regardless of which one was to the left. I also tested with the external monitor at 100 and 125% Thanks! Hi! The problem really persists with most third party themes, but in my case, I am using Scratchy (https://store.kde.org/p/1898344/) I would also like to note that, when switching the position of the screens in the system settings, only newly opened windows get affected by the change in scale, while the ones done before the switch remained unaffected As soon as I finish writing this reply, I will also add another attachment with another image showcasing the problem For some reason that's really beyond me, the official themes that come preinstalled with KDE, like breeze, seem to be completely unaffected by this problem. Either that, or they're just too blur-friendly to be noticeable, which I doubt: When hovering over the buttons you get the same circle-type that gets demolished by this bug, but it still looks fine Created attachment 179277 [details]
second png describing the problem
(In reply to sillymabs from comment #3) > Created attachment 179277 [details] > second png describing the problem PS: I don't think this problem relates to this bug, but the kde screenshot tool, Spectacle, makes screenshots look blurry, which also makes the navigation bars on screenshots of the problem look better than they are when you're witnessing them first hand. They look a lot worse and the problem is a lot more noticeable than they do in this screenshot Thanks for the additional detail. Using the Scratchy theme, I can reproduce the blurry window decorations on a second screen with 175% scaling on git-master Looking at the source code for the theme, it's been updated for plasma 6, and is using .svg icons for the window controls https://gitlab.com/jomada/Scratchy/-/tree/main/aurorae/Scratchy?ref_type=heads I see the same problem with the theme "Layan" (In reply to sillymabs from comment #4) > PS: I don't think this problem relates to this bug, but the kde screenshot > tool, Spectacle, makes screenshots look blurry, which also makes the > navigation bars on screenshots of the problem look better than they are when > you're witnessing them first hand. Created attachment 179266 [details] png showcasing problem SUMMARY Navigation buttons on the window decorations follow the scaling of the monitor who's position is set to the farthest left, rather than, more expectantly, following the highest scale or the scale of the primary monitor, resulting in said elements appearing highly blurred and pixelated if the scale is lower on the farthest left monitor STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have 2 or more monitors 2. Increase the scale of the primary monitor (set it to 175%, for example) 3. Set the scale of the farthest left monitor to something smaller than the primary's (like 100%) OBSERVED RESULT Navigation buttons appear blurry and pixelated (more noticeable on third party themes such as Scratchy) EXPECTED RESULT Navigation buttons appear crisply at the scale set by the primary monitor SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Nobara Linux 41 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This problem really hinders people themeing their KDE, as they're forced to either have the same display scale on all monitors, which isn't ideal on smaller resolutions, or have their highest scaled monitor on the left
