SUMMARY
Application Launcher does not show Applications in categories if hovering mouse above them.
Works under X11 and Wayland.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Application Launcher (Meta)
2. Move mouse over category like "Help"

OBSERVED RESULT
Now it does not show them up, only if you'll click upon them, then they'll show applications.
Last working version with that functionality was 6.3.0

EXPECTED RESULT
Fix it.

Do you have "Switch sidebar categories when hovering over them" enabled in Application Launcher settings?
Comment 2 reports_go_brrr 2025-03-04 12:40:10 UTC
It is disabled by default for no reason. But when enabling it now does work.
I'll make report about making that option enabled by default then.

Not having hover activation is the new default setting. This is the result of a full design decision process (only the second one we've ever had, I think) that took place in https://invent.kde.org/teams/vdg/issues/-/issues/78 and was implemented in https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-desktop/-/merge_requests/2658

As such, I would not expect this to change without another such process, and that would require significant new information rather than an individual user's preference.
