I am unable to repro this, I followed same steps as in the video, using the toolbar preview button. Operating System: Fedora Linux 41 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.13.5-200.fc41.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.5 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6600 I tested this on Dolphin built from git-master, and 24.12.2 using the steps in the video. I wasn't able to reproduce the bug. Can you create a new user on your system, and try to reproduce? Please let us know if the bug happens with the new user. TEST SETUP Folder with graphic files, including png and svg Dolphin configured to remember display style for each folder also to open folders, tabs and window state from last time STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin, click the Preview icon in the toolbar - previews are shown 2. Close Dolphin and reopen it Result: Previews were shown for all image files @TraceyC, strangely the problem is gone. before creating a new user I alternated with 'remember display styles for each folder' and 'use a common display style for all folders' options in dolphin settings. after a few tries, nothing. Well that's odd. It's possible that a config file was re-written in such a way to fix things. Let's call this fixed for now. If you encounter the same bug, feel free to re-open this report. Thanks! |

(see my screen-record attached) this bug only occurs for icons-mode and not for details/compact-mode STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. select "remember display style for each folder" option in dolphin settings 2. select preview in the toolbars 3. close dolphin, open it again & observe OBSERVED RESULT preview mode doesn't stay after you exit the folder EXPECTED RESULT remember the default settings SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: EndeavourOS KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.13.5-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland
