Description Rehan 2025-02-23 09:53:35 UTC
I've encountered an issue with KDE Plasma 5.24 where system tray icons do not update their status properly. The issue occurs with several applications, including the network manager and weather applet. Specifically, when an event triggers a change in the app's state (e.g., network status change or weather data refresh), the icon in the system tray does not reflect the updated status unless I manually hover over or click on the icon. This behavior started after the recent update to Plasma 5.24.

Steps to Reproduce:

Install or update to KDE Plasma 5.24.
Add the Network Manager and Weather Applet to the system tray.
Wait for an event that triggers a change in status (e.g., network connects/disconnects or weather updates).
Observe that the system tray icons do not update until interacted with.

Expected Behavior:
The system tray icons should update automatically without needing to interact with them.

Actual Behavior:
The icons remain static, showing outdated information until the user interacts with them.

System Information:

    KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.3
    KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91
    Qt Version: 5.15.2
    Operating System: Kubuntu 20.04
    Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 620
