Description Arttu 2025-02-20 21:14:15 UTC
SUMMARY
My VRR/FreeSync 144hz monitor starts very subtly flickering after a game has been in fullscreen once, even after the game is closed.

This only happens with my secondary 60hz monitor connected, it stops when the monitor is disabled or unplugged.

Disabling VRR in system settings doesn't stop it, I have to completely disable VRR in the monitor's settings.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set VRR to Automatic in system settings
2. Launch any game and set it to fullscreen
3. Observe

The brightness flicker is bug 477016.

As for VRR not turning off, please attach the output of drm_info when that happens

Ok, so KWin does turn VRR off, so this is https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/3546
