Description nilskemail+kde 2025-02-19 13:39:57 UTC
SUMMARY
Aborting the past of clipboard contents by means of canceling the filename prompt results in a "Fatal Error" notification even though this is part of normal usage

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right-click on the desktop
2. Select "Paste Clipboard Contents..."
3. Click "Cancel" in the filename prompt

OBSERVED RESULT
A "Fatal Error" notification appears

EXPECTED RESULT
No error notification should be issues as aborting such an action is part of normal usage. More importantly, this notification is not even actionable (what exactly went wrong, how could one remedy this...) and instead is just confusing and unsettling for users

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Linux 41
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
Kernel Version: 6.12.13-200.fc41.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 7840U w/ Radeon 780M Graphics
Memory: 30.6 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon 780M

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This could be especially confusing for new users who accidentally press Ctrl+V while on the desktop and just close the prompt as they do not know what they did. Receiving a "Fatal Error" notification in this case is unhelpful and will be even more unsettling for the user
