Description gudvinr+kde 2025-02-18 06:32:18 UTC
SUMMARY

When Night Light kicks in, it is noticeably different on Wayland than on X11.

I don't care which one is "correct" but I expect at least some resemblance of similarity.
Compared to MR#6358 (https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/6358), where difference is subtle, I am having extreme difference.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Turn on night color
2. Switch session

OBSERVED RESULT

Colors have much more deeper red tint on wayland.

EXPECTED RESULT

Colors have similar temperature when night light temperature is the same.

This should be fixed in 6.3.1 with https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/7157

I don't use ICC nor HDR. Does MR cover this too?
Comment 6 Zamundaaa 2025-02-18 16:07:05 UTC
Yes, it does. Without a color profile at all, it was applied far too strong.
