I had the same usb for months. It broke. I took my losses. I created a new pgp publioc and private and they worked. Next time I logged in they were gone.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you did. Please describe step-by-step what you did. In particular, tell us what kind of USB device you use and how you use it.
