SUMMARY
When opening the file deletion dialog (Shift+Del) in Dolphin for a large-ish file accessed over the KIO SFTP worker, downstream network traffic increases and browsing the SFTP host becomes very slow, presumably because the file is being downloaded.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. in Dolphin, navigate to an SFTP folder containing a large-ish file (a couple hundred megabytes). Keep a System Monitor open to monitor network traffic.
2. Select the large file and press Shift+Del.

OBSERVED RESULT
Download rate increases to the maximum possible and browsing the SFTP host becomes very slow.

EXPECTED RESULT
Deleting a file should not download it, let alone just opening the deletion confirmation dialog.

Apologies, it appears I was a bit premature. The download happens even before pressing Shift+Del, presumably for the preview generation. However, now the question is:
- Why is preview generation not aborted when the file is deleted?
- Why does this happen only with the sftp KIO worker? If I access the same file on an NFS mount, I don't see this extensive dowload. I'm assuming the the preview function seeks within the file and the sftp worker doesn't support seeking?
