I can see from the log (thanks for adding that) that Krita goes into emergency autosaving mode. Dmitry said this on IRC:
09:00:27 < dmitryK> There is an emergency autosave value, which is not present in the config, but only set in
KisDocument. It happens when the document is busy and the autosave failed several times
09:01:02 < dmitryK> I would look into the reason why autosave fails
09:02:23 < dmitryK> (after three failed emergency autosaves, it should start an autosave stroke, which should
theoretically break the loop, if it also fails, then it might be the image is locked by
something)
It should be something exceptional though...
Yikes, really sorry you lost work. :( Do you know if any "special" layer/mask types (for example Transformation Masks) or other more complex features in use when this happened? Anything out of the ordinary that you can think of that you might have been using at the time? (If you can remember, I know it was a few weeks ago now...) -- Halla, I see this is marked "confirmed", but we probably need more information to take action on it, right? We may need to improve the logging around the autosave fallback process that Dmitry described so that we can glean more info from the logs in cases like these. Otherwise it's hard to know what might have been the cause of the autosave failure. Otherwise it's hard to know what might have been the cause of the > autosave failure. My drawing process is quite simple, I try to use only the very, very basic tools In my process I use, and was using at the time the error occurred, the following tools: - Brush/Eraser (a very basic brush, nothing special, no textures or other “advanced” features, just pressure sensitivity and a regular round shape) - Selection (mostly Freehand Selection) in combination with Transform Tool (Move, Resize) - Pan and Zoom Occasionally I was able to Undo <last action> via the Edit menu (I have the Undo hotkey unbind). I could also turn Dockers on and off (Settings > Show Dockers). And create layers, but I create the most common layers - Paint Layer. When I use the Freehand Selection tool, it also automatically creates a Selection Layer. I may have also used Mirror View (View > Zoom, Rotate and Mirror > Mirror View). I think that's it for now. I don't think I've missed anything - the tools described are my usual process, and it's unlikely I was using anything complex/advanced at the time, because I try to keep my approach as close to traditional as possible, minimizing all digital “advantages”. I try to use only the simplest brush and eraser, and so I don't even use Undo - only when I'm checking the brush on the canvas and I need to remove a stroke that was applied during the check, but I don't use Undo in the actual painting process, just the brush and eraser. Eventually I plan to even abandon the Transform Tool, but... for now, it's a bit difficult for me. |
