The open image in external app icon appearing

SUMMARY
There is a configuration checkbox to disable opening the image in an external application when pointing the mouse over the image and clicking at the button it appears.



STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Disable configuration checkbox "Click on image to open in an external application"
2. When pointing the mouse over the image, the icon to open image in external application applears.
3.  Click on the icon and the image is opened in Gwenview

OBSERVED RESULT
 
EXPECTED RESULT

When this option checkbox is unchecked, the icon to open the image in external application should not appear.

I think you may have misunderstood the option. It's working as intended: when you uncheck that checkbox, clicking on the image itself does not open it in an external app.

However, the little icon that appears on hover will always open the image on click, and it's expected that it appears on hover whether or not the checkbox is checked.
