SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Plasma-Discover
2. Nothing is show and tell there is no internet connection (but there is!)
3. Receive error 
PackageKitBackend: No distro component found for "com.ubuntu.ubuntu"
AppStreamIntegration: No distro component found for "com.ubuntu.ubuntu"

OBSERVED RESULT
Receive error 
PackageKitBackend: No distro component found for "com.ubuntu.ubuntu"
AppStreamIntegration: No distro component found for "com.ubuntu.ubuntu"


EXPECTED RESULT

Be able to install deb package from sources.list

This indicates a misconfiguration in how PackageKit (which Discover needs to work) has been configured on the system. I'd recommend talking to the Ubuntu folks about it.
