Description Günther 2024-12-29 15:15:06 UTC
Hello, unfortunately I'm still very inexperienced with Linux. (Switching from Windows). I installed KMyMoney and I think it's really good. Now I wanted to move to another computer and copied the file as described and onto a USB stick and I can see this file on the computer I copied it from.

When I open KMyMoney on the other PC and want to open the file, I can't see it in NEMO or KMyMoney.

So I can't open it either.

What could be the reason for this??

Thanks for your help in advance.

Günther, this is more of a user question than a bug. We use this tool for bug tracking only. May I redirect you to the forum at https://discuss.kde.org/tag/kmymoney where we support this kind of question? Hope you don't mind.

And since you mention that you don't see the file in another application (or whatever NEMO is) either: your problem does not seem to be related to KMyMoney.

it may be that usb sticks are not mounted automatically under the linux distribution that you use, or support for the filing system that was created under Windows is not included. If you reformat your memory stick under Linux (preferably with FAT32) and then write to it under Windows it will have a good chance of working.
