Sentry Crash Report:

Description Alex Pantone 2024-12-18 16:35:30 UTC
SUMMARY
In both the timeline editor AND the final render, every time a clip starts, the audio plays normally for about one second, then there's a brief stutter or repeat in the audio.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Drag a clip into timeline
2. Drag the playback head before the start of that clip or slightly after it
3. Play

OBSERVED RESULT
The audio plays normally for about a second, then a short portion of the audio repeats. The rest of the clip plays normally, and the video does not seem to have an issue. If rendered, the issue is present in the video file there as well.

EXPECTED RESULT
The auudio does not stutter or repeat

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10.0.22631 Build 22631

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Here's a video demonstrating the issue: https://youtu.be/Q8r4lrt4Rug

The video files themselves are fine: if I play them on my phone or in VLC on my computer, they don't have any stutter. If I drag the playhead back to before the start of a clip or slightly after the start and hit play, the stutter always happens. If I drag the playhead to about half a second after a clip starts, it never happens.

I noticed the issue on version 23, so I updated to 24.08.3 (Windows 11, installed from installer on official site), and the issue persists. I tried using File> Save As and cutting the project down to a single clip, it still happens even after cleaning that project. I tried making a new project with one clip, still happens. It happens with or without Proxy Clips and/or Preview Render.
I dragged the same video files into Clip Champ and they did not have the issue.

I just exported the project file and put it on a completely different computer (Windows 10), and the same issue happens.

I watched your YT video and I must say it’s really difficult to say what happens here. You have a 4K UHD 2160p 30fps project (and video I guess).
What you can try to nail it down:
- Remove the audio fade-in/out effect to check if this has an influence
- What audio do you have on Track A1?
- Switch on/off audio track A2 to check if this has an influence
- Try with version 24.12.0 https://kdenlive.org/en/download/
