SUMMARY

With (I assume) Version 8.3.0 I have the following issue: face tage info is no longer read & written to/from JPG exif info

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a file with XMP-mwg-rs info in digikam.
2. View all metadata

OBSERVED RESULT
Data not shown

EXPECTED RESULT
Data shown

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Also, face tag info is no longer written to JPG.

The XMP-mwg-rs info the is shown in exiftool was actually written with a previous version of digikam (7.?) before I upgraded.

Please provide the corresponding image as a sample. digiKam-8.5.0 is the current version under Windows, not digikam-8.3.0.

A problem with XMP-mwg-rs info cannot be reproduced here with digiKam >= 8.5.0.

I'm currently also using 8.5.0. But the info isn't shown (see the initial screenshot which was made with 8.5.0)

Hi,

The 8.7.0 pre-release Windows installer from today have been rebuilt from
scratch with Qt 6.8.3, KDE 6.12, OpenCV 4.11 + CUDA support, Exiv2 0.28.5, ExifTool 13.27, ffmpeg 7, all image codecs updated to last version (jxl, avif, heif, aom, etc.).

Please try with this version to see if your problem still reproducible...

Thanks in advance

Sorry that it took so long for me to recheck this. Too much live in too short a time...

I can confirm that reading and writing XMP-mwg-rs now works for the test file I had added.

digiKam 8.7.0, Build 29.06.2025 11:01

Thanks!
