Hi - could you perhaps double-check that this is filed against the right product? I don't see a File menu in NeoChat, the hamburger menu item that has Ctrl+N as a shortcut is "Create a Room", and that menu item/shortcut both seem to work on my system (and I'm guessing we're both running Fedora 41!) See attached screenshot. Maybe it's only in the global menus for some reason?
Interesting! Yes, that menu item doesn't appear in the hamburger at all, but I added a panel with a global menu and I can reproduce now. While clicking around in there, I also noticed that within the File menu, choosing "Find your friends" opens that dialog as a full-page screen in the app, which then crashes NeoChat. Clicking it from the hamburger menu opens it as a modal dialog box, which functions correctly. I don't know if that's the same cause or a separate bug, though. Fixed in https://invent.kde.org/network/neochat/-/merge_requests/2277, which will show up in the next stable release |
