SUMMARY

dolphin "Places" panel does not remember width and reopening. Always opens on a very narrow width.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. bug occurs
2. resize "Places" panel
3. it resets to a narrow width after closing and opening Dolphin

OBSERVED RESULT
places panel width not saved

places panel width saved

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It appears /home/fuh/.local/state/dolphinstaterc becomes corrupted

The correct functioning can be restored by copying a new version of the file from a newly created profile

I'm not able to replicate this bug with Dolphin 24.08.3 on Solus. If I change the width of the Places panel and re-open Dolphin, that panel keeps the width I set it to.

Do you have any plugins for Dolphin installed (through Settings - Configure Dolphin - Context Menu)? You can see the ones installed if you click Download New Services and filter by Installed.

Also, could you please attach the corrupted version of /home/fuh/.local/state/dolphinstaterc?

hi.
yes the resizing normally works fine, just sometimes it goes wrong and locks to a small size.
I do have a few of those "service menu" *.desktop files, folder colouring ones, could those have an effect? I thought they just ran shell commands. 

the corrupt file is long gone, when it happens again I'll take a snapshot. it's happened a few times now.
