I don't think that makes sense in the Kate context. I can not remember I wanted ever to move stuff to trash there. I could live with an additional 'Trash' action like in Gwenview. I don't think a Delete option should be offered in any context if something such as the Shift key is not pressed. This is to avoid user error. I didn't even know Gwenview had two options. I always prefer only having one (Move to Trash) due to possible user errors. (Moving to trash is reversible, but deleting is not.) (In reply to EpicTux123 from comment #2) > I don't think a Delete option should be offered in any context if something > such as the Shift key is not pressed. This is to avoid user error. I didn't > even know Gwenview had two options. I always prefer only having one (Move to > Trash) due to possible user errors. (Moving to trash is reversible, but > deleting is not.) I don't think so and always like that I have these both actions in Gwenview. For what it's worth, choosing "Delete" from within Kate still provides the "Do you really want to delete file x" pop-up prompt, so it's not an instant risk. Would it make sense to change this to "Add 'Move to Trash' option to tab context menu" as the wishlist item? > Would it make sense to change this to "Add 'Move to Trash' option to tab context menu" as the wishlist item?
I would rather to follow my original request (change Delete to Move To Trash), but your alternative is fine too in my opinion.
