Description elydgolden 2024-11-25 22:41:51 UTC
SUMMARY

Exactly as the title. When middle clicking to open an executable text file it opens in its primary app instead of its secondary app as the context menu suggests. In my case, Kate is the primary app and KWrite is the secondary app.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a blank shell script, titled say test.sh, and make the file executable
2. Middle click to open the file in the secondary app

OBSERVED RESULT

File opens in primary app

EXPECTED RESULT

File opens in secondary app

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20241124
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0
Qt Version: 6.8.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It is possible that this is intended behaviour and in fact it's the context menu that is wrongly saying that middle clicking will open in the secondary app and not the primary app. In this case the bug is in the context menu incorrectly stating that middle click will open in the secondary app.
