SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Using mouse, select a word by left-click, dragging then release. 
2. This results in multiple clipboard entries instead of just the word selected.
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
for example, if i select the word "this", i see following entries:

Cannot reproduce with current git master.

Can you reproduce this in a new clean user account with no customization?

What input device are you using the make the selection?

Sorry but I forgot to mention that I have the option 'always save to
history'.
If you still cannot reproduce, I'll do what you asked.

I have further determined the following:
- this 'bug' occurs in both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge;
  does not occur in FireFox.
- nor does it occur in Kate, Dolphin, Okular, etc.

Therefore, please close this report. And thank you for your time and attention.

Indeed it sounds like Chromium is doing something strange; please report it at https://issues.chromium.org/issues. If they determine out code is at fault, we can re-open this bug report.
