SUMMARY
After changing the focus of Dolphin with alt-tab and back, sometimes user can't drag a file. Pressing alt again while in dolphin resolves the issue

Issue is similar to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339399. Not sure if it's the same cause.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open dolphin and some other app
2. Alt-tab between them and try to drag the file from Dolphin -> You'll see that the header of dolphin doesn't get the correct color

OBSERVED RESULT
After changing the focus of Dolphin with alt-tab and back, sometimes user can't drag a file.

EXPECTED RESULT
User is always able to drag a file

I am unable to reproduce this. It looks like the window is inactive after alt+tab, so maybe alt+tab functionality itself is having an issue?

You might be right.
Can you try with other KDE apps? I can repro the part where the app looks like it's inactive with multiple other apps like settings, gwenview ark, okular, but I never had any issues with the functionality except with the Dolphin.
Comment 3 John Kizer 2024-11-26 19:08:53 UTC
I can't reproduce this one, or either of the ones below, but this is the third bug filed this month with fundamentally similar results being reported, just in different applications:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=496716
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=495741

Do these all perhaps belong under kwin product, tabbox component?
Comment 4 Filip 2024-11-26 19:22:42 UTC
Agree with John most likely the same issue. I'm also able to repro https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=496716 with Konsole and Alacritty. Let's close this one and 496716 as duplicates of 495741 since that one is already linked to Kwin and got attention from David Edmundson.
