1. Drag Clip into Timeline
2. Apply Position & Zoom Effect (if that is relevant)
3. Monitor Audio Track
4. Record on Audio Track

Please try with the “Transition” effect instead of “Position & Zoom”.

If it still crashes, try recording with the AppImage from the download page: https://kdenlive.org/en/download/

With this fix the audio waves during recording appears again. Tested on Windows.
