SUMMARY
I copied several strings to the clipboard, after 1 hour I open Clipboard and click onto first item, moved focus to Kate window and pressed Ctrl+V - happened nothing, RMB in Kate edit window and select paste - happened nothing.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Kate
2. Start webbrowser (I use Firefox)
3. copy several strings from website(s)
4. wait 1h-2h (maybe this point is not required)
5. click onto Clipboard, and select (by clicking on it) from history any item
6. click onto Kate editor window
7. Press Ctrl+V, or middle button in mouse (if it is programmed to paste), or click RMB and select Paste


OBSERVED RESULT
happens nothing

EXPECTED RESULT
should be paste string from history what I clicked

Cannot reproduce in git master on Fedora 41. Does the issue reproduce with default Klipper settings or even in a new clean user account?

Did you try to copy from Firefox (url lineEdit or any web page). Recently I had a problem whey tried copy from Firefox.
Anyway I'll try to reproduce it in new account with default settings.
