Left clicking any app or icon on the icons-only task manager does not do anything. Hovering, right clicking, and middle clicking works. This has been bothering me for several weeks. I have reset my theme settings, and removed the panel and added it again.

Works for me, and presumably it works for most other people too or else we'd have ten trillion bug reports about this.

Can you create a new clean user account and see if it works there? If so, it's somehow an issue limited to the configuration applied to your primary user account.

Thanks!

Thank you for the quick response, how can I create a new user? If you could direct me to a page or simply list the steps that would be great!

System Settings > Users > Add New…

Also, what version of Plasma are you using? The Info Center app will tell you.

Plasma 6.2.2

After much trial and error on a new user, I figured out that it was 'plasmarc' that was causing the issue. There was a flag called 'Tooltip delay' set to 10, and when I got rid of that everything returned to normal. Thanks for your help!
