Description Massimiliano L 2024-10-28 14:02:26 UTC
SUMMARY
The Discover updates notification widget that appears when Discover is updating the system does not seem to provide useful information. In particular:
- it reports a somewhat itemised progress "item x out of n" but does not tell you what an item is;
- the "view details" button just shows a repetition of the "item x out of n" without providing more information;
- if I go back to the Discover window, there is no clear correspondence to this itemisation.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open Discover and launch "Update All";
2. close/minimise the Discover window and open the notification widget;
3. click on "view details";
4. go back to the Discover window and check what is going on.

OBSERVED RESULT
- "view details" just repeats more information
- the "items" in the notification bear no correspondence to what appears in the Discover window: if Discover says it's processing item 2 of 3, there may not even be 3 items in the Discover window.

EXPECTED RESULT
Any "view details" button actually provides more information. Also, it should be possible to find out what are the "items" Discover is acting upon.
