STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the Brightness and Color applet
2. Move the slider for the screen brightness back and forth

OBSERVED RESULT

While adjusting the brightness, screen flickers and at random regions, parts of the desktop wallpaper shine through for fraction of a second.

It's not record-able with pipewire, so I've recorded it with my phone and took a screenshot from the video.

It also seems the actual monitor backlight isn't changed as the brightness setting of the monitor doesn't change, but instead a purely visual darkening overlay effect is in charge.

hmm, this looks a lot like there's some synchronization issue with KMS, just like bug 480799
