Cannot reproduce with current git master. Any chance you can attach a screen recording that shows the issue happening, i.e. it not remembering changed settings when you open the dialog for a second time? after some research, I ended fixing it by editing kdeglobals config file. see this for reference. https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/r55gqh/how_to_make_kfiledialog_show_thumbnails_by_default/ 🐛🧹 ⚠️ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days. Created attachment 175097 [details] the issue itself. SUMMARY when having to upload files, or open files from any app, the file selection dialog doesn't keep my preferences and I have to always press the show thumbnails button to be able to see the thumbnails of my pictures. this may be a misconfiguration of my session, as it seems that it doesn't happen on a clean install of plasma. I welcome any fix for this. do note that it didn't happen on plasma 5.x. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open any app 2. try to upload a file or open a file to bring the file picker dialog 3. dialog doesn't remember last settings, forcing me to click the show thumbnails button OBSERVED RESULT just as I said. EXPECTED RESULT dialog remembers my settings and always show thumbnails of my pictures, no action required. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.7.0 Qt Version: 6.8.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I've attached a shot of the issue.
