Description strudelkuchen 2024-10-21 10:38:59 UTC
SUMMARY
kteatime notifications do not play any sound.
With default settings (rm of ~/.config/kteatime*) I can observe this:
kf.notifyconfig: Failed to play sound with canberra: File or data not found

Looking at the notification settings I can see:
dialog-information

If I change this to e.g.:
/usr/share/sounds/oxygen/stereo/dialog-information.ogg

The "File or data not found" msg does not show, but no audio is played either.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. start kteatime
2. start e.g. green tea timer
3. wait 2 minutes and no sound plays

Shorter way to reproduce is just going to the notification settings and clicking on the play button to test.

OBSERVED RESULT
no sound plays

EXPECTED RESULT
sound plays

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.7.0
Qt Version: 6.8.0
Kernel Version: 6.11.4

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'm unsure if this is actually a regression in kteatime, since downgrading kteatime many versions does not seem to fix the issue. Please advice.

I fixed the issue.

For some reason there were two "Notification Sounds" in System Settings -> Sound -> Playback Streams. One of them was muted.
