Description andk 2024-10-17 21:57:43 UTC
SUMMARY

I'm not really sure how to describe this specifically, but in the Flatpak version with the default layout the waveform is stuttering and glitching. Moving it to horizontal fixes it, but it makes all the subtitles having the same issue. Please take a look at the attached videos to better understand what I mean.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Load any .srt file with video and waveform
2. Play it
3. Observe the glitches

OBSERVED RESULT

Subtitle Composer is impossible to use due to waveform/subtitles constantly moving.

EXPECTED RESULT

The interface would not glitch.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian 12

Sorry about the multiple attachments, I had troubles with formats. Please download the videos if they're still not playing well in browser.

Can you confirm it's not happening with one of the appimages from here? There is also Debian 12 package.

I can confirm it's not happening with AppImage. That seems to work correctly.
I'd strongly prefer to use it on Flatpak though, for various reason. Can I help you somehow to fix the problem?

You could try submitting a bug here: https://github.com/flathub/org.kde.subtitlecomposer/issues/new

In recent Qt6 release something changed so waveform started flickering on wayland, it was fixed with commit here: https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/subtitlecomposer/-/commit/a9149b10489abd92157ca895d7b16d90547012b8
I'm not sure if that is related to flatpak version.
