kgpg does not work in wayland. Likewise kleopatra does not work in wayland: 
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=494710
Same problems and same terminal output.

I also have this problem with the kgpg application. fedora 40 workstation, on my pc OS the application does not work whether I install it as rpm. The problem was again caused by wayland. More precisely the wayland incompatibility of kde applications.
I will start a new thread about k-gpg, but I will not give feedback in that thread. I know that wayland is the source of the problem, because I get the same errors when I run kgpg from the terminal.

Again I couldn't resist, I installed it. I typed "kgpg" in the terminal. no reaction. It showed no results. the cursor blinked and blinked. The command did not continue, the command did not terminate.

I also experienced this problem in kde plasma wayland desktop environment.
