I can understand the use case. I think this would need to be implemented slightly differently to avoid confusing people who are used to (and might prefer) the current behavior. We can leave it to the developers to design this into the UI in a way that allows the current behavior and also allows the user to close the non-active pane. Other applications have this kind of functionality, for reference. For instance, in Kate, if you click on a tab, you have options to - Close Document - Close Other Documents - Close All Documents |
