Dear Dolphin developers,
I would like to propose a modification to the behavior of the "Close Current View" button when using the split view mode in Dolphin. Currently, when the view is split, the "Split View" button is replaced by "Close Current View," which closes the currently selected view. My proposal is to change the functionality of this button so that it closes the non-currently selected view instead of the active one. This change could improve user efficiency in scenarios where one wants to maintain the current view and close the secondary one.
Specific request details:
In split view mode, the "Close Current View" button should close the non-selected view.
If possible, add an option in the settings to choose between the current behavior and the proposed one.

This modification could be particularly useful for users who frequently work with multiple views and want a quick way to close secondary views without losing focus on the main view. Thank you for your attention and for considering this improvement proposal for Dolphin.
Best regards, Diego

I can understand the use case. I think this would need to be implemented slightly differently to avoid confusing people who are used to (and might prefer) the current behavior.

We can leave it to the developers to design this into the UI in a way that allows the current behavior and also allows the user to close the non-active pane. Other applications have this kind of functionality, for reference. For instance, in Kate, if you click on a tab, you have options to
