Does the standard short cut alt-F3 not work for you? That shortcut is configurable so it may have been changed. In case it will be the same for all kde based apps. It should also be in the dialog that comes up on switching to full screen mode. Hi, I will try alt-F3 the next time the problem shows up. The problem I see is that kdiff3 enters fullscreen mode without any intervention from my part and it does so randomly. I don't even know how to enter fullscreen mode intentionally (I tried alt-F3 to enter fullscreen mode and it doesn't work). I asked my IT guy to install a more recent version of kdiff3, but he says the one installed (1.8.4) is the one that come by default on RHEL8. He is open to installing a more recent version but doesn't know where to find the binary file. Can you provide me instructions on how he could upgrade the version? I am confirming that trying alt-F3 did not solve the issue, applying this shortcut command had no effect. Would it be possible for me to configure a shortcut to exit full screen mode? It should be possiable to setup a short cut for exiting this mode. It may referred to as fullscreen in which there truly isn't a window frame at all or maximized which has a frame and close box. Maximized windows can sometimes overlap on screen panels in a way that hides the close box. I would see https://discuss.kde.org/ for further information in that regard. KDiff3 1.11 may also resolve this issue and is the current supported branch. Hi Michael, I visited the link you sent but I was unable to find a way to define a shortcut to exit full screen mode. The person responsible for IT here at Boreas says version 1.8.4 is the latest version supported by Red Hat Extra Package for Entreprise 8. Can you tell me how we could upgrade kdiff3 to version 1.11? New versions of kdiff3 are posted at https://download.kde.org/stable/kdiff3/ the current release branch requires Qt 5.15. There flat pack versions put out which by default has file system access limited to the users home directory. The settings for kde's keyboard shortcuts are accessiable via the kde system settings keyboard module. The previous link is a kde specific forum that can be used for questions or the mailing list at kde-core-devel@kde.org which I am on. |
