SUMMARY

In the file selector, the left pane uses a wrong encoding for filenames, resulting in folders with non-ASCII letters being mangled and greyed out.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a folder with non-ASCII letters, eg ~/Téléchargements (the French standard for Downloads)
2. Have this folder in the "left pane shortcuts"
3. Run kdenlive AppImage
4. Open a file

OBSERVED RESULT
The folder should be listed and selectable.

EXPECTED RESULT
The folder name is obviously displayed using a wrong character encoding and is greyed out. Note it appears correctly in the main pane.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is likely not actually a bug in kdenlive but rather in a sub-component I cannot identify, but this is the only software (with the exception of ShotCut appimage) displaying this behaviour. Other Qt apps have no problem.
