Currently, the "Tools -> Mode" and "Tools -> Highlighting" have an order by types (3D, Assembler etc.), and the types have submenus from which you can choose your desired options.

However, I think it would be much better if we just ordered by the initials of the type we want.

Also, what is the difference between Mode and Highlighting? Can't they just be in a single option ("Mode and Highlighting")?

We have a search function if you want to quickly set highlighting. Other than that I don't think we want to change this.

Would it be possible to add this as an optional feature (i.e. you can toggle the sort mode between the current mode and my proposed Initials mode)?

I don't think that we want to work on that. There is the search for that.
