SUMMARY

Making a screenshot using the Rectangular Region using an external display with the laptop lid close has visual glitches and does not create the desired screenshot.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect an external monitor to a laptop
2. Close the laptop lid to only use the external monitor
3. Take "Rectangular Region" screenshot

OBSERVED RESULT

1. Display glitches while taking the screenshot: some windows are displayed multiple times
2. The content that is inside the selection square does not correspond to the actual screenshot

EXPECTED RESULT

1. No display glitch. The screen get slightly darker with the selection square highlighted
2. The screenshot corresponds to the content in the highlighted square

i get reproduce the visuals glitches(the screen look likes it zoomed for a millisecond and them go back to normal) but my screenshots look right, and i can reproduce the visual glitches both with the lid open or closed

The visual glitch is not fleeting for me. It lasts as long as the selection tool is running. See the first picture.

There is only a konsole window on the screen. It is duplicated partially in a narrow band in the middle of the screen.

The rectangular selection has icons from that window in it. But the actual screenshot is completely black, probably corresponding to the black konsole window content beneath the glitch.

Seems to work in 6.3.
